"Getting along with Russia" could very well be a good thing. Which doesn't mean that a Trump administration would be taking orders from Moscow.

"Getting along with China" could also very well be a good thing.

Nothing about the phone call with Taiwan suggests that Trump isn't interested in good relations with China. It just means China won't be dictating the terms of the relationship.

And, again, when you see who Trump appoints as ambassador to China, it will be clear that he isn't giving them the middle finger.

Everything Trump does could be a good thing so he's never wrong!

More to the point, it isn't a matter of not being interested in good relations with China. The question is if he is taking the right steps to make that happen.

I didn't ask YF any questions in that post. Despite my snarky response, I do see his point.

The actual issue of relations with China is part of it, but the willingness to look at Trump's actions with a critical eye is the larger point.

Trump said on Thursday The Wall isn't needed due to "vicious rivers" along the border. As somebody who has seen that river (and waded through the knee-deep water to illegally enter Mexico for about 5 minutes) I got a great laugh.

So he was for the wall, before he was against it. Some people might consider that flip-flopping. Only some people, though, because the truly insightful knew that even though he said he'd build a wall, and that Mexico would pay for it, he really meant the raging torrent that is the Rio Grande would be a sufficient deterrent.

Men of factious tempers, of local prejudices, or of sinister designs, may, by intrigue, by corruption, or by other means, first obtain the suffrages, and then betray the interests, of the people.

The silliness of the protocols necessary to maintain our current relationship with China.

Do we really think we should have to play this game?

I can't even believe the Times is chronicling this.

In the weeks since the election, some Americans have found a new folk hero in a familiar face: Hillary Clinton, comfortably dressed suburban retiree.

Within hours of her loss, a steady stream of photos began surfacing of supporters posing with her as she took part in lazy-day activities: There’s Hillary, walking in the woods of Chappaqua, N.Y.; Hillary browsing the aisles at an independent bookstore; Hillary shopping for Thanksgiving dinner at the market; and Hillarywalking in the woods of Chappaqua again, this time with Bill.

Adam Parkhomenko, a longtime Clinton aide, has started a Twitter account, @HRCInTheWild, for tracking the spontaneous sightings.

Well, you are certainly still talking about her enough, so maybe they just see the interest in it.
