Can a whitetail doe and/or a feral pig sow work? Because that would save me time in the morning.

For diplomatic professionals — you know, those people who base their ideas of Sino-American relations on more than just a tweet — our relationship with China has been increasingly worrisome. Yes we do depend on them for the carrot in the carrot-or-stick relationship with North Korea and while they don't want to see a complete meltdown and Pyonyang, their role there gives them leverage in economic issues and the growing problem in the South China Sea, as Beijing lays claim to more and more territory around the Spratleys. Not to mention a myriad of other issues. So while you might belittle Trump's move as "hurting their poor wittle feewings," I can assure you the Chinese see it as a real slap in the face and could lead to an increasingly contentious relationship with one of the largest economies in the world with also one of the largest armies.

This is very true, and China is the past master of thousands of shades of gray.

So now he's pissed off India and China, too.
Combined population is 2.6 billion to our 320 million.

If Trump has a tactical plan, I'm quite ready to hear it.

Didn't we have people here defending Trump as we heard reports that his relationship with Russia was a little too cozy by saying getting along with other countries is a good thing? If it was good in that case, why wouldn't it be good to get along with the Chinese now?

Anyone else have the feeling China, North Korea, ISIS or some other rogue state/organization may test Trump sometime in his first six months, just as a form of newbie orientation?

Just so we know what to look for, some useful "Get me a beer, newbie" translations...

    CHINESE:
Gěi wǒ yīgè píjiǔ, xīn jiāhuo.

    PASHTO:
ماته د بير، د نوي هلک ترلاسه کړئ

    KOREAN:
    Maegju na saelo sa julge.

Even giving Trump the unearned benefit of every doubt, if you were going to deliberately initiate a drastic change in Sino-American relations, why wouldn't you wait seven weeks until you have the diplomatic and military apparatus under your control and can direct them to act in concert with your wishes, instead of leaving them to spin their wheels as a potential crisis erupts?
