I fell for the initial "cop out" killing. But that ended up being a pretty brutal and gripping hour of tv.

I stumbled across enough info to kind of know who was gonna die. But it was still compelling stuff, IMO.

I fell for it, too, as you can see in my post. I still hate that they dragged it out even longer, but overall I thought the episode was well done.

I thought the show was way too manipulative and overly gory.

But I would have like to have seen Rick take a few love taps for being so dang stupid. Again.

I hated the slow build at first, but it was worth it in the end IMO.

And yes, Rick was stupid -- but that episode was incredibly well done.

Also, suck my nuts was fantastic.

That was one of the most gripping, disturbing hours of fiction television I've ever seen. Just brutal. My wife refuses to watch, and no way in hell would I let my kids watch it. Shit, I'm not sure I'm old enough to watch it -- and I'm old.

What 'The Walking Dead' Just Did With Negan Is A Trick They Should Never Pull Again

Here is a negative review based on the very fair complaint that the show has resorted to playing camera tricks on the audience to create tension. Glenn's seeming death by the dumpster, for example, was bullshit. The cliffhanger to see who Negan killed was also bullshit.

The reviewer loses a good bit of credibility for saying that it wasn't clear why Negan went for a second victim. It was very clear why Negan did it and nobody should have been surprised.

On its own, the episode was very well done. The looks into Rick's imagination got a little annoying and Rick once again survived being stupid, but my only real issue was making us wait three scenes in to see who was on the wrong end of Lucille after making us wait all offseason. That bit was bullshit.

Interesting to note there is a lot of internet whining going on regarding the graphic nature of the murders, especially the second one. The best part is people blaming this on Scott Gimple, saying the show is engaging in torture porn for its own sake, apparently not realizing that the second death was just a heck of a "live" representation of Negan's first kill in the comics.

A lot of those folks are saying they're done with the show because of last night's episode.

Yeah, it was brutal -- but that's Negan. It's supposed to be brutal.

It was brutal, but Carol shooting Lizzie during Season 4 is still the most disturbed I've been by the show.

Yeah, "Look at the flowers" is the most disturbing scene of the entire series.
