Wondering if this is a way of tapdancing around an age question?

A few years ago, I interviewed with very well known company to be their chief employment lawyer. I sit down for the interview and the head lawyer of the company says to me -- wow, your the first white man that I've seen for this position. I really didn't know what to say.

My sister interviewed with a lawyer over the phone for a paralegal position, and he asked her if she looked like Dolly Parton.

It's not OK to stereotype people... except by age?

BTW, younger people are awesome to work with. I was at a university for six months last year, had such a blast.

Best thing is, you can really fuck with them because they don't know anything! Well, anything important, that is.

Aside from the editor, I'm the "old man" of the newsroom at 35.
