He's ineligible because he wasn't included in the 2016 MLB Awards thread.

Happ's ERA is just 3.19, only slightly higher than Sale's. Of course, Sale has been better. He pitches much deeper into games, with over 20 more innings than Happ this season in the same amount of starts. But Happ has been excellent in his own right this year, so I'm not sure why he is the poster boy for pitchers being judged by won-loss record.

Dammit! Rangers outscore Cleveland by only one run ... When are they gonna win one of these damn games?

Royals had a perfect day in the standings. Need a win. Gotta go 23-10 from here on out.

They're not going to get many days where just about every team they're chasing loses. I've been operating off a "they need 90-72" benchmark. Another day like today possibly means that 89-73 would be good enough.

If (a big IF) KC wins tonight and gets 2 of 3 against the Yankees, I'd give them a 40 percent chance of getting in.

The rest of the year: 6 Cleveland, 6 Minnesota, 6 Detroit, 7 White Sox, 4 home vs Oakland. That's a stretch I could see 20-9 happening to close out. Long shot, yes, but each series is a potential knockout.

Hell, tonight is one. If they lose tonight, sweeping NYY next week is almost mandatory.

First 4 triple day for Giants since 1924 and three came in that inning. Still batting.

Braves trailed by 2 at the start of the 7th. Now down by 10 to start the 8th.

But you have September call up potential, even with your warning track power.
