    The Daily Times, a seven-day morning newspaper in Maryville, Tenn., is searching for a full-time sportswriter to join its award-winning sports department. Located outside of Knoxville, The Daily Times puts an emphasis on presenting prep sports with a big-time feel, and also providing in-depth coverage of college athletics. The preferred candidate will have strong writing skills across multiple sports, keen news judgment, ability to write to social media, print and Web while utilizing excellent grammar and AP Style, as well as managing deadlines to multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will also possess both a rhino hide to red ink to have those skills pushed and expanded through constructive criticism, and the proofing eye to have the back of other writers. A bachelor’s degree in communications or an equivalent in education or experience is required for this position.
