I guess some cases of "the flu" cause you to shred lame throwback jerseys.

Well, when the entire local store has the flu, you end up wearing a uniform like this:

Based on WAR, a players only ballot for the new committees would go like this (I put the player in the era where he had a majority of his seasons):

    Early Baseball (1871-1949)
    1. Jim McCormick
    2. Bill Dahlen
    3. Tony Mullane
    4. Charlie Buffinton
    5. Wes Ferrell
    6. Jack Glasscock
    7. Tommy Bond
    8. Bob Caruthers
    9. Sherry McGee
    10. Urban Shocker
Next 5: Jack Quinn, Bob Johnson, Jack Powell, George Uhle, Jim Whitney

    Golden Days (1950-1969)
    1. Ken Boyer
    2. Willie Davis
    3. Dick Allen
    4. Jimmy Wynn
    5. Vada Pinson
    6. Billy Pierce
    7. Larry Jackson
    8. Norm Cash
    9. Minnie Minoso
    10. Wilbur Wood
Next 5: Ted Simmons, Jim Fregosi, Murray Dickson, Gil Hodges

    Modern Baseball (1970-1987)
    1. Bobby Grich
    2. Rick Reuschel
    3. Graig Nettles
    4. Luis Tiant
    5. Dwight Evans
    6. Buddy Bell
    7. Willie Randolph
    8. Reggie Smith
    9. Tommy John
    10. Sal Bando
Next 5: Keith Hernandez, Darrell Evans, Frank Tanana, Bobby Bonds, Dave Stieb

    Today’s Game (1988-2016)
    1. Lou Whitaker
    2. Rafael Palmeiro
    3. Alan Trammell
    4. Kevin Brown
    5. Kenny Lofton
    6. David Cone
    7. Bret Saberhagen
    8. Chuck Finley
    9. John Olerud
    10. Orel Hershiser
Next 5: Will Clark, Robin Ventura, Kevin Appier, David Wells, Dwight Gooden

As a note, the highest WAR player on the Golden Days ballot was 17th overall and there were 25 guys ahead of No. 2 on that list and I got a top 15 for Early Days and Modern baseball and a top 13 in Today Game before getting a top 5 in Golden Days, which shows how picked over the 50s and 60s are. The 15th best Golden Days player, Gil Hodges, is tied for 384th overall in WAR
