Editor – Fastpitch News

Company Overview: Advanced Sports Media Group is the only media group dedicated to college and high school- aged sports in the United States. We are seeking a top-flight editor to capitalize on the growth opportunity within the softball market by creating content and managing our website/brand, Fastpitch News. This is a full-time position, and will require extensive experience with softball, the softball community, writing, social media, content promotion and audience acquisition.

Responsibilities:

• Become THE expert in the softball space, and become a resource for the community, which includes coaches of all levels, parents, players and administrators
• Manage the day-to-day content execution which includes producing player rankings, team rankings, event coverage, recruiting, general softball happenings, etc.
• Assist in promoting all Fastpitch News content to necessary media outlets
• Develop & reinforce relationships with media outlets, coaches, leagues, forums, etc.
• Assist in generating weekly newsletters and eblasts for FastPitchNews content
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing and Events teams to hit goals
• Maintain and generate reports on a daily, weekly, biweekly or monthly basis Traveling to any/all softball tournaments and events

Desired Skills and Experience:

• BA/BS Degree 2-4 years of experience creating content
• Excellent written communication skills Display a strong working knowledge of all social and new media platforms
• Knowledge of the digital content landscape and how to promote content
• Must love softball and have played at a collegiate level
• Gifted, energetic communicator that can develop relationships and "own the room"
• Self-motivated, fast-paced, highly results-driven and extremely entrepreneurial
