    Umm yeah, but he died at 73, which was pretty much avg life expectancy for an American male. Guess since it was lung cancer, it was the cause. But not sure how much longer he would have lived.

    The Wikipedia play is almost as good as something from The Atlantic. Going further, Postman's argument means, of course, the Golden Age of Parenting was in the 18th Century. Parents were there to make sure their kids were safe., unlike today.

    Don't think he was really arguing parenting skills, but if there are more things to distract it's probably easier to get distracted.

    I read it on Facebook yesterday. It was a reasoned, well-thought-out piece from a person with important experience interacting with both the zoo and gorillas.

    So, you're probably right. Not enough knee jerking.
