Cincinnati Zoo kills gorilla after 4-year-old climbs into his pen

People really need to learn to hold their phones horizontally when they're making videos.

I don't have kids but have been around many as my niece and nephews have grown up. I have to believe every single person has been in the situation of being with even a small group and thinking someone else was keeping an eye on the kid. Totally changed my tune on those little leashes you see parents using at theme parks and such after being around young kids.

 

A zoo is not the place to make that assumption.

 

I have to wonder why officials didn't just shoot the gorilla in the knee. No need to kill it.

The same way people with kids in the back seat could wander into a path of an oncoming car --- by texting or by being otherwise distracted.

It's what we do. Doing only one thing at a time --- like watching a kid --- is too boring and/or inefficient for many people.
