The Laurinburg Exchange newspaper, a five-day-a-week publication in southeastern North Carolina, is seeking a sports editor/reporter.

The primary beats are Scotland High School and St. Andrews University athletics, but coverage of youth Optimist baseball and Parks & Rec games are also an occasional occurrence. Middle school contests, especially football games, are prominent local events as well. The football beat is one of the more important ones at the paper. Scotland High won a 4A state championship in 2011 and is among the state's top programs. Laurinburg is located about an hour and a half from the beach, Charlotte and the Raleigh-Durham area. Pinehurst, which hosts the U.S. Open from time to time, is about 45 minutes away.
