Alex Gordon doesn't strike me as the type to get complacent. He's just in a slump.

Jake Arrieta is the first Cubs pitcher since this guy to start 6-0.

Can you name him, and the year? Don't cheat.

Reds bullpen sets record by allowing a run for the 21st consecutive game.

Time for a shamless fanboi Cubs-jacking of the thread.

Cubs have a +89 run differential, more than double the next-best team. It is the best run differential through 27 games since 1905.

Cubs are 64-26 in their last 90 regular season games, a .711 win percentage and a 115-win pace.

And yes, I know that it will mean zero come first pitch of the playoffs.

Phils just beat the Cards 1-0. Nola with another impressive outing.

Is the NL East going to be this year's NL Central with 3 playoff teams, Nats, Mets, Phils (now 16-11)?

Is it me or is the American League just unappealing this year. Cubs, Nats, Mets all have the feel of exciting teams. You can't rule the Giants out.

Remember when I got hammered here for saying Scioscia was terribly overrated? Good times.

I also remember when I was hammered here for saying Joe Girardi was seven shades of terrible. Not hearing much about him these days, are we?
