    There are a few good songs, not great, on that album......

    Desire
    Angel of Harlem
    my personal favorite on the album is When Love Comes to Town (with BB King)

    Ditto on the Stones and Beatles. But I will add The Band: "Music from Big Pink" and "The Band"

    Angel of Harlem and All I Want Is You are both on my list of top 5 U2 songs. Also on that list are Running to Stand Still and Red Hill Mining Town, from The Joshua Tree.

    Seemed totally sensible to me.

    I like "Desire" a lot, and "Angel of Harlem" is good, but beyond that the album misses for me.

    Thank you sirs and madams. I am enjoying this thread.

    A short list of my personal, certainly not universally recognized, faves. For genre diversity's sake...

    Arcade Fire (indie rock)
    Funeral (2004) -> Neon Bible (2007) -> The Suburbs (2010) -> Reflektor (2013)

    Pennywise (SoCal punk rock/melodic hardcore)
    About Time (1995) -> Full Circle (1997)
    Kanye West (hip hop)
    The College Dropout (2004) -> Late Registration (2005)
    Thursday (post hardcore)
    Brand New (pop-punk/emo)

    Serious answer: I'll second the Fragile/Closer to the Edge (Yes) and Unforgettable Fire/Joshua Tree (U2) nominations. The Oasis mid-1990s albums were both strong, too.

    More prog rock: The Peter Gabriel-era Genesis had quite a run with Foxtrot, their first live album, Selling England by the Pound and Lamb Lies Down on Broadway. Rush kicked ass from 2112 all the way through Moving Pictures.

    And for Pearl Jam, I'll take Ten, vs. and Vitalogy as a great stretch of early 1990s music.

    The Cure: The Head on the Door - Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me - Disintegration.
    That's a hell of a run.

    OutKast's Aquemini (1998) and Stankonia (2000).

    Was scrolling through waiting for the doors and yes to get mentioned. Though I would go Morrison Hotel/la woman and YesAlbum/fragile.

    Agree that Morrison Hotel and LA Woman are better 1-2 combo for the Doors.
    'Strange Days' has some weaker tracks on it.

    Haven't seen it mentioned yet, and certainly they won't top the list, but Core and Purple from STP are pretty good debut and sophomore efforts.
