That was a good read. The only problem I had with it was the opening anecdote, which said there was still an office in LA. I would have liked to know why there had still been an office in LA, but it was never explained.

Life doesn't revolve around football for that community. And Brookside Golf Course (the parking lot), which already takes a beating, would be destroyed with twice as many games played there.

Just because you think it's simple to add more football games onto the schedule doesn't mean the City of Pasadena, which owns the Rose Bowl and the surrounding complex, has any interest in doing so. There are also a lot of other events and organizations that use the space during the year.

Edit: Just realized I'm a little late to this party.

    Man, this is great journalism.

I especially like how arguably the most important guy in showbiz, Bob Iger, was humiliated by owners, as noted:
"The message was unmistakable: NFL owners listen only to each other."

If NFL owners' meetings were televised, Sanders would be elected President with 80 percent of the vote.

Chargers say no thanks to mayor's proposal to rebuild on current site, want downtown location instead.

Chargers pursue NFL stadium in downtown San Diego

In a joint statement with county Supervisor Ron Roberts, the mayor reiterated his view that a Mission Valley stadium could be completed more quickly and without raising taxes. However, they didn’t rule out supporting the team’s plan after they see financing and other details.

Gonna guess here that the Chargers' plan is going to involve raising taxes.

Mark Davis, Sheldon Adelson and David Beckham appear before the committee to pitch the stadium.

Raiders' Davis: Want to move team to Vegas

Davis says he'll put in $500M of the $1.2B cost. Adelson, of course, doesn't want to part with a dime of his $28B and wants the rest to come from taxpayers. But you can read all about that in the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
