In Scott Frost, UCF has hired the anti-O'Leary

"Oregon's offense is currently ranked No. 6 in the nation; UCF's offense is ranked dead last -- 127th out of 127 FBS programs."

UCF is like a Cal or a Maryland, or, as we have found, like a Missouri. A couple of mediocre recruiting years, and the bottom falls out.

Didn't realize the UCF athletic budget took a hit of about 50 percent moving from Big East to the American. The loss of BCS money is coming out of the pockets of student fees, which now account for about half the income now. Not good.

AJC & Schlabach both reporting Kirby Smart to Georgia is a done deal.

South Carolina whiffs on Smart and Fuente. What the hell were they doing with that two month head start?

It did not matter what kind of head start they had with Smart. The day UGa came open, he became unobtainable for everyone else. The fact that the Chickens were close to signing him is why Georgia went ahead and dumped Richt. It was almost like one more Spurrier win from the coaching grave.

    Exactly.

Also looks like Smart will take Bama's S&C coach (Scott Cochran) and maybe its WR coach (Billy Napier). Might pry Muschamp away from Auburn too.

Pruitt then would likely go back to Alabama. That's a pretty even swap, though Smart is a better recruiter (though Pruitt is good).

Scott Cochran would be a big loss, though.

Scott Frost was up there and UCF hit a home run with that hire

Saw on the twitterz machine that some in Georgia are seriously considering making a run at Richt, to run for governor in 2018. Current guy is term limited and Richt has name and media skills.

He's not really been political in his time at UGa but it is believed he's a fairly conservative right leaning republican.

    This shit makes me cackle.

Smart was pretty much the only hire UGA could make to alleviate the burn of seeing Richt tossed aside for this Dawgs fan. Heard a lot of people saying the Georgia should go after an established head coach, but who would they go after that would be an upgrade from Richt in terms of wins and consistency? Any established coach would likely be a lateral move at best. At least with Smart, it will breathe some new life into the program and there is the chance he is the next Nick Saban.
