    Richt fired, per Mark Schlabach.

EDIT: Ty Webb beat me to it.

This really mucks it up for South Carolina, I'd think.

Unless McGarity and company at UGA have their eyes on a big name hire, I hate this move.

It makes sense, they only scored three points in the third quarter yesterday.

What part of standing on 17 do so many schools not get?

And apparently the third quarter is when these decisions are made.

So Richt, who goes 9-3 with as much regularity as anyone in college football, gets canned and people think it was the right move.

Les Miles, who is about as consistent as Richt but with the more occasional flash of brilliance, doesn't get canned.

College football is a weird business.

And all the Miles backlash has allowed the idiocy at Georgia fly under the radar. Shrewd.

At this point any school firing a coach is amazingly stupid. Who in their right mind wants to get into a war of dollars against a dozen and a half schools?

This feels like when Tennessee fired Fulmer.
