Supposedly Hudspeth is "in the clear." Who said he's not ready for an SEC job?

I think Hudspeth is holding out for one job and one job only: Mississippi State. He's from right down the road from Starkville (Louisville).

He could have had the Southern Miss job the last time it was open, but wisely turned it down. I know his name was in the mix at Ole Miss when Freeze was hired, but not sure how seriously.

But when Mullen ultimately leaves Starkville, Hudspeth will be on the short list.

North Carolina did far worse, with at least a decade of athletics-centered academic fraud, and gets off pretty much scott-free. Equal justice under the NCAA? Hardly.

Michigan State now 7.5 dog against Michigan. Sparty is 0-6 ATS. They gotta cover one of these Saturday's.

    It'll be 9.5-10 by Friday.

Harbaugh has every reason to run it up if he gets a chance.

USC beating Notre Dame wouldn't be a stunner.

    Pitt (+3.5) at Georgia Tech
Ball State (-15.5) vs. Georgia State
    Nevada (-7) at Wyoming
    Clemson (-15.5) vs BC
    Washington (-2) vs. Oregon

Aren't they still waiting for the hammer (or the ruler on the wrist) to come down?

Same thing I said last week about Texas beating OU. These games, especially when you include merely covering the spread, are almost completely unpredictable. No rhyme or reason to Big Six vs. Big Six games whatsoever.

Normally you'd figure a team having its head coach abruptly terminated in midweek a couple days before a game against a big traditional rival would be thrown into disarray, but if the coach had been in the habit of showing up for games and practices three sheets to the wind, it might be an improvement.

Article represents good reporting but has a few typos and was likely hurriedly done, so it has some glitches, but it specifically says:

Some of the allegations are related to an academic eligibility issue involving the standardized test scores of multiple recruits signed by the Cajuns over the past few years, all AFTER Mark Hudspeth took over as head coach following the 2010 season.

I don't know if he is in the clear or not. He is responsible for his staff.
