If that's going to be a sticking point, then you need to go whole hog and get rid of the AL-NL separation.

I'd keep the DH. So much excitement when the pitcher hits.

Got tickets today. Looking forward to it.

Pirates can point to their division record for the entire season as their downfall. Finished 34-42 against the Central, 12 games worse than both Chicago and St Louis.

Amazingly neither was thrown out. Five minutes later, the next pitch was thrown.

All this because Pittsburgh lost two consecutive wild card games to aces?

I'm just saying that if we have to get rid of unbalanced schedules, let's get rid of the element that unbalances them the most.

Or, you didn't win your division, so you got stuck in a one game playoff.

I don't believe we should reinvent the wheel (which is kinda what you are suggesting) all so a second place team can have things a little more 'fair' for them.

A second-place team that finished with a better record than five other division-winners.

Can't begin to imagine what the fervor in the Midwest will be like for the next week as the Cardinals and Cubs face off, although I'm getting a little flavor for it already from texts from both by Cardinal and Cub friends. Would also guess one could end making a nice premium on their tickets to these games.
