Florida Panthers just put a forward in net. Or did they?

    Now Montoya is back in.
Now Luongo is coming back in.
    No idea what is up.

Twitter has been awesome - and blowing up - here in Toronto.

Nobody knew WTF was going on. TV said it was a skater in net. Turns out it was the injured goalie. Then the goalie coach showed up in gear. Now Luongo is back in.

    Madness.

Luongo was in street clothes less than 10 minutes before coming back in. Goalie coach is actually younger than Jagr.

I know it was a rule in the one-goalie on a team era, but do they still allow bringing some schlub out of the stands and letting them play?

Now that would be one hell of a story.

Said on TV that anyone could be signed on an emergency basis. But had to be cleared by the league.

Was chatter about whether TOR had to approve, but never a definitive answer.

There's a guy in Orange County who has suited up for the Ducks a couple times when a goalie got hurt in practice and the replacement wasn't in town yet

I'm guessing there's a guy like that in most NHL cities.

That's probably one reason the AHL has created the western division.

His name is Rob Laurie. He's a part owner of Monkey Hockey, a sporting goods store. He also has suited up for another team that was visiting Anaheim. Forgot which one, might have been Minnesota.

"I'm being told the Panthers have run out of goalies and will play the entire third period with an empty net."
"That's a bold strategy, Cotton, let's see if it pays off for 'em."
