Watched a chunk of Arizona-KSU last night. KSU isn't bad. Arizona is very good.

    Maryland is surprising this alumn.

Absolutely, with quite a few players leaving unexpectedly, I thought MD was going to struggle. Off to a great start.

How many really good teams are there? Every year, there seems to be fewer and fewer.

No way they're paying the five years of blood money. They're stuck. Their fault. You take three looks at the guy, you know he belongs at Division 473

. . . not to mention his hilarious Twitter feed. Empty platitudes, or oblique observations that point to everyone and everything but his sorry self.

Uh oh. MD's leading scorer Dez Wells broke his wrist and is out four weeks. Broke it Tuesday in the Iowa State game.

That significantly lowers their chances against UVa.

UVA's playing 5-on-8 in College Park. Maryland was in the bonus before the first TV timeout.
