    Why is that the "decider"?

For the same reason you'd come up with a set of statistical bullshit for whatever baseball argument you're trying to make.

It's all statistical bullshit. But my deciding statistical bullshit doesn't smell nearly as bad as Joe's do.

Barry Zito wants to play next year. Can't see him getting much of an offer from any team.

Felix spent half the season setting a Major League record.

He spent the other half pitching like a Cy Young contender.

I can see where voters would have a tough time with this.

When I saw Xan's statistical breakdown, I thought 93Devil was back.

In your mind, Kluber should win it because?

    Voter Anthony Castrovince on Kluber:

"Razor thin but just think it was a better pick"

    "2nd-half ERA better 1.73 to 2.16"

    Strikeout-to-walk ratio "big to me"

The FIP argument because Kluber pitched in front of a "substantially worse defense"

Not to mention the "less forgiving ballpark"

And let's not forget he didn't have "as strong of a supporting (rotation) cast"

Which means "he meant more to the team"

Plus, what about those curious scoring changes at the end of the season?

I wouldn't have any problem with anyone who voted for Felix. It's a coin flip.

With Whitman in self-imposed exile, have you become the voice that says there must be a right and wrong in award voting?

FUCK YOU, YOU FUCKING FUCK FUCKING FUCKER!

I mean, no, I'll save the string-a-fucks for Dick.

That said, you were heavily involved in the Bumgarner-Morris thread but you don't want to offer an opinion on this? What did Kluber do better?

That's what we do in society, debate who's best at stuff, and when it's a "coin flip" we dig a little deeper.

For me, with all things being equal, it's Felix set a substantial major league pitching record. What's Kluber's big thing?

And yes, it's just an award. Doesn't mean I can't get my panties in a wad.

I actually wasn't that involved in the Bumgarner-Morris thread. I think my first post on there was "why vote, who can tell the difference anyway?"

I wonder how much Felix's disastrous start at Toronto in the last week of the season — which might have cost the Mariners a playoff spot — made a difference to voters.
