I'm prolly one of the least appropriate people to start this thread...but looks like Beef and others have given up the ghost.

Peter Laviolette, only the second coach in the Predators' 17-year history, is undefeated, as his squad moved to 5-0-2. The Preds are the last team in the league to have no loss.

Nick Foligno of the Blue Jackets is being immobilized and stretchered off the ice at L.A. He was being ridden along the boards in front of the team bench by Jeff Carter and he jammed his head into linesman Shane Heyer, who was sitting on the boards trying to get out of the way.

Ducks defenseman Ben Lovejoy rocked Sharks winger Joe Pavelski on Sunday night with an uppercut that snapped Pavelski's head back. It also broke Lovejoy's hand. He'll be out 6-8 weeks.
For those of you back east who only know Lovejoy as the sixth or seventh d-man for the Penguins, he has developed into a key player for the Ducks. He has been paired with Cam Fowler in the No. 1 unit since last season.
Ducks start a big trip Tuesday at Chicago. One of the best early-season matchups so far. They go from Chicago to St. Louis, Dallas and Colorado on the trip.
