I'd heard somewhere that the cops were overly militarized in Ferguson, but I couldn't seem to see them anywhere.

Al Jazeera TV crew tear gassed, then had their equipment taken down by the police.

They're already living out their dream of smacking down black people, they sure as hell aren't going to let some A-rabs get a foothold.

Just to be clear, the governor ordered the highway patrol to take over for the fucking Ferguson police, who looked like they were in the military with all the shit they had. No fucking way does a police force need military style weapons and related gear and vehicles. That seems like a sure recipe to get somebody shot about 49 fucking times.

I'm surprised this protest hasn't spread across the country. If there's ever a trial and the cop is acquitted, it could be Rodney King, Part II.

Except they all happened peacefully, without a bunch of jocked-up local yokels pointing their laser sights at anyone who wasn't pasty.

The State Highway Patrol took over for the St. Louis County Police, who had all the fancy military gear. If you look at the pictures, the vehicles clearly say St. Louis County.

Other police forces were also helping out.
