Jeter, 20 years, no losing seasons, 7 AL pennants and 5 WS championships.
He played with 4 only Hall of Famers. And that's if you include ARod and Clemons. Boggs is in and Rivera is a lock. Pretty damn impressive for a dynasty.

I can only continue to shake my head in disbelief at the Rockies. Seriously, how is it that Dan O'Dowd is the fourth-longest tenured general manager in the MLB, behind Brian Sabean, Billy Beane and Brian Cashman. Most other organizations would have fired O'Dowd by this point.

I had a discussion with someone not long ago who argued that Jeter was a better player than Chipper because Jeter won five rings. Which is an insane argument. Jeter is not the reason for all those titles. And it's not Chipper's fault he played for two of the worst in-game managers in the league.

Jeter did none of those things except the 20 years part.

Jeter on any other team is Craig Biggio or Wade Boggs. A Hall of Famer but a run-of-the-mill one. Because he played for the Yankees he's going to get a higher vote percentage than Maddux.

Tim Raines is also deserving, and will get in eventually. And Jeter is playing with Ichiro now.

Pettitte Mussina probably should be in but won't. Raines is so deserving but I think that it's too late now and he goes in as an Expo. Ichiro, goes in as a Mariner, that makes 5. Boggs & Clemons are Red Sox inductees.

That doesn't mean he didn't play with them.

And Robinson Cano, who played 9 years with Jeter, is also well on his way to Cooperstown.

Jorge Posada will also get a lot of Hall of Fame support.

And CC Sabathia looked like he was on track for the Hall of Fame as recently as 2 years ago.

So the argument that Jeter didn't play with that many truly great players is bunk.

Jeter also played with Randy Johnson. Granted, not Randy Johnson at his apex, but still a Hall of Famer.
Jeter also crossed paths with Gary Sheffield, who probably won't make the Hall but is at least worth a few moments of debate.

Other than that, Jeter never had much to work with.
