    From journalismjobs.com.

    Company: The Wells Inn
Position: Start Up Looking Overnight Writers
    Location: Sistersville, West Virginia
    Job Status: Full-time
    Salary: $15,000 to $20,000

    Description:

Our small historic hotel, located on the banks of the Ohio River in rural West Virginia, is looking to expand its newspaper/ newsletter writing staff. Our little publication is currently published twice a month and contains community and local business news, as well as stories that focus on what’s happening at our hotel.

The project is still in the start up phase and is progressing very nicely thanks to the efforts of our Managing Editor. We will forward PDF’s of our current paper to serious applicants.

We are expanding our staff. The position we are currently looking to fill ASAP is an overnight writer who can do audio and written news summaries, update our website, listen to the scanner and write news and general interest and/or humorous stories for our print edition. This position is perfect for someone who really likes solitude, wants an endless supply of free gourmet coffee or tea and access to our well stocked fridge. NO, you may not sit and game all night unless you can convincingly provide proof that the dragons you are fighting are newsworthy to people in the real world.

Also, NO, please no, viewing “adult content” (read "porn") websites on the computer as the work station is in the middle of a public area of our hotel’s lobby. No, we do not do arts and entertainment review of porn in our family friendly publication and some of our hotel guest will get the wrong impression of the nature of our hotel. Dress code and appearance is to be consistent and business casual.

Applicant will also be required to conduct some internet based market and do story research. Top-notch copy editing would be a big plus!

Applicant will be expected to man (or woman) the front desk of our hotel and assist in minimal guest services. Writer will report to our Managing Editor and to a lesser degree the hotel owner.

This job is great for someone who is starting out, needs a change of pace or wanted to hide from their ex or other people they have pissed off! A sense of humor is obviously a must!

Will consider providing room and board to right candidate while you are getting settled.

Also, if you have previously applied please feel free to send another resume. I am not as computer savvy as I should be and managed to loose several emails. Opps!

Please include clips along with resume, cover letter and three referenced. Writing and editing test will be assigned to finalists.

Nah. Could be legit. Just odd. A newsletter paying up to $20K. And no porn at work?!

In West Virginia, Sisterville can easily become Wifeville.

Yeah, seriously. Sounds so relaxing ... but then you aren't allowed the ultimate relaxation? Lame.

    Your first story should read:

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

And stay away from Room No. 237
