Description: The sports department of Hudson-Catskill Newspapers is currently seeking full-time reporters to cover sporting events in Columbia and Greene counties for both the Register-Star and The Daily Mail.


The Daily Mail and Register-Star are both 5-day print, 7-day online a.m. daily papers located in charming bucolic counties two hours north of New York City and less than an hour from Albany and Kingston.


The reporter will mainly be responsible for providing coverage of local high school teams during the regular and postseason, along with covering various league sports during the offseason.

Responsibilities include reporting and photographing day-to-day sporting events, developing feature stories and page layout, among other duties.

Columbia-Greene Media has immediate openings for both news and sports reporters.

The Daily Mail, Catskill, NY, is looking for a reporter who is comfortable covering local governments and school boards, researching and writing an entertaining feature story and heading out the door to cover a crime scene, fire or accident – in other words, someone who can do it all.

This position requires a person who can produce daily stories for our publication, located 30 miles south of Albany on the banks of the Hudson River. The person hired will have to immerse themselves in the community in order to write entertaining and informative stories. The Daily Mail is in print five days and online seven.
Familiarity with photography is a must. Multimedia and layout skills are a big plus.


We’re looking for someone with journalism experience, but will certainly consider recent college graduates who have shown they can produce solid, well-written stories on deadline.

Anyone know about this place? To me anything sounds good as I am preparing to graduate but thought always nice to hear from others who may have worked there in the past.
