  2. I see USA Today is looking for both MLB and NFL editors ... Assuming these are the lead editor roles, anyone know what happened to the other editors who were doing these gigs?

The NFL editor, as noted on another thread, went back to New Jersey. Being lazy, but I believe Trenton.

Anyone have an idea on what these positions might pay? The DC area isn't cheap.

Come on, someone has to know something. Even a ballpark figure.

This is just a guess: $95,000?

fyi, kevin Manahan, a very good dude, returned to the star-ledger of Newark to become its on-line sports editor. don't know what his salary was/is at either place.

    Fran, thanks for the guess.

Was wishfully thinking higher, but wouldn't be at all surprised to hear lower.

Anyone else have any direct insight?

I'm sure Manahan is happier in Northern New Jersey. As for the pay, that's a nice figure but given its Gannett and they're in a slash and burn mode, it might be $20,000 cheaper. Just a guess.

Posted again on Gannett's website a few days ago. Not sure what that means.

    Means nothing.
Since he announced it on his Facebook page last night, this plum goes to Izzy Gould of the Alabama Media Group.

Great hire. Izzy is one of the best people I've met in this business.
