    Cannot blame him. Wicks, in particular, was a complete self-absorbed ass. Ask Jack McCloskey.

    As a lifelong Bucs fan, I laugh at the fact that he retired rather than be traded to the Bucs.

    Good choice, since my team is dreadful.

    Within the context of the league at the time, it was worse than even most of the horrible current deals.

    Wow, I'd never heard the details about Ryno's retirement. Or that the Cubs reportedly traded Rafael Palmeiro and Dave Martinez at Sandberg's insistence because he believed (probably with good reason) that both had slept with his wife:
