Don't know, but maybe the new Vikings writer for ESPN?

Brian Murphy covered Vikings and NFL for them. Ben Goessling, the top Vikings guy, started on the beat recently after covering the Twins and Wild. I'd imagine ESPN would want Murphy, who has been in place longer.

It is now official that Ben Goessling is leaving the Pioneer Press to go to ESPN. Not Brian Murphy.

So both the Strib and PP will have new beat writers...

Is ESPN paying that much more than the metro dailies?

  10. Wait, who left from the Strib? I knew Tom Pelissero left ESPN1500 for USAToday.

On another thread, on another board, Dan Wiederer left to cover the Bears for the Chicago Tribune.

Yes, you need multiple scorecards to keep up with all this movement -- and all the openings.

From what I hear, it's a pretty wide range. I've heard some were hired in the $75K range and others were over six figures.
