Is the late September date a certainty?

That's the consensus based on the poll and PMs I've received.

They're mostly gone now, except for a few in Chelsea and maybe in midtown.

My apartment in West Village isn't much bigger.

I don't know. Seeing posts from "eastcoastvol" just won't feel the same.

I'm going to Long Island this weekend. First time ever. Anything good happening there this weekend?

I'm pretty sure I'm the designated walker for this outing, so I hope vomiting will be kept to a minimum. ;D

I'm scheduled to run the Tunnel to Towers 5K on Sunday morning. It's a Sept. 11 memorial event. I've been told it's the quietest 5K ever, with runners bawling as they go by uniformed firefighters lining the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel holding up photos of the guys who never made it home.

The major down-side is you have to be in lower Manhattan before 7:30 a.m. to catch a bus/ferry to the start in Brooklyn.

OK, at this point figure on Sept. 28-29 with a trip to Citi Field for a 4:10 game between the Brewers and Mets, including a No. 7 train ride to the ballpark that, if everything works out, will be narrated by John Rocker. I'll poll in a couple days on seating and ticket pricing. On Sunday morning, PaperDoll will lead a contingent in a 5k, which sounds like a great way to get a feel for NYC for those inclined. There is a lot of buzz around a possible Frank_Ridgeway appearance in the afternoon.

Feel free to PM if you have questions or thoughts.

It's great that you're throwing John Rocker some work.
