That could be the finest movie ever made for all I know but I wouldn't watch it even at the point of a gun.

Just saw Raging Bull. Holds up pretty well. Boxing scenes are a little cannibalistic. DeNiro is terrific. La Motta certainly had his demons.

How would a period piece like that - perhaps the great movie of the 1980s - not "hold up," exactly?

Saw Jack the Giant Killer last night. Not awesome, but enjoyable enough. I give it a 3/5

Now watching Star Wars Ep. IV. Just been too long since I watched it. Love the old technology in the movie that is supposed to look futuristic like needing entire rooms for a computure. But speaking of movies holding up, the special effects in the movie are actually not bad by today's standards.

Like many decisions in my life, I can defend none of this.

    I saw Identity Thief.

It was funny. I liked it. It's not great by any stretch, but still good...

If The Heat, with Bullock and McCarthy is the hit that people think it will be, McCarthy will pretty much be able to lay claim as the most bankable actress in Hollywood. Who would have seen that coming?

Brad Hamilton is alive and well and working Dunkin' Donuts in West Haven.

Did you see the R-rated trailer in the theater? That's what they showed when I saw Identity Thief. Big red screen instead of the green. "MATURE AUDIENCES ONLY!" I can't remember the last time I've seen that in previews.

Finally caught Skyfall. Like most Bond movies, it struck me as being a fun movie as long as you didn't think too much about it. It does rely on plenty of Batman gambits though (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BatmanGambit).
