There's an appropriate level of nastiness? Maybe it's like a composer's tempo notes (e.g., allegro ma non troppo). In this context it would be cattivo ma non troppo.

A source familiar with the Romney campaign has stated these names likely for cabinet positions if the former governor wins the election:

    Secretary of State: John Bolton
    Secretary of Treasury: Grover Norquist
    Attorney General: John Yoo
    Secretary of Labor: Scott Walker
    Secretary of Education: Rick Perry
Secretary of the Interior: David Koch
    Secretary of Commerce: Charles Koch
    Homeland Security: Joe Arpaio
Health and Human Services: Rick Santorum

I know you're joking, but there's no chance any of those, except maybe Walker, get past a senate committee.

    I'd be right obliged, ma'am.
Maybe I can bring by a sody-pop sometime, when I come a courting.

I'm guessing you didn't pay attention to the fact that there were others in the audience besides the undecided voters. Lotta Hofstra students. If I remember correctly, there was a lottery on campus to see who would get to be in the audience.

But that would eliminate the Michele Obama "Zapruder film" conspiracy theory, which is so thoroughly entertaining.

Just read the link Gooch... OK.
Read the link and educate yourself.
    That's all I ask.
