I got the boot when I called Obama some apparently too-nasty names following one of his bend-over-and-say-ahhhh caves to the teabaggers in one of the fiscal cliff showdowns.

There's an appropriate level of nastiness? Maybe it's like a composer's tempo notes (e.g., allegro ma non troppo). In this context it would be cattivo ma non troppo.

I'm guessing you didn't pay attention to the fact that there were others in the audience besides the undecided voters. Lotta Hofstra students. If I remember correctly, there was a lottery on campus to see who would get to be in the audience.

But that would eliminate the Michele Obama "Zapruder film" conspiracy theory, which is so thoroughly entertaining.
