Knew a guy during the times these movies were coming out who claimed he knew her. Grew up in the same area he said.

I might give Kim Bassinger's performance in Nine 1/2 Weeks an edge over both of those.

Broke Back Mountain tent scene has to make the list.

Also Monster Ball gets pretty steamy.

All the Right Moves and Against All Odds are hidden gems.

Couldn't stand the movie, but Jane March's scenes with Bruce Willis in "Color of Night" were about as steamy as they come.

Likewise Sherilyn Fenn in that movie that jump-started her rise. something "Junction."

The scene with Ann Hathaway in the back of the car might be the most pleasantly surprising scene in cinematic history ...

Depends on the movie and how it's handled.
If it's a movie geared toward the 20-somethings, teens who sneak into R movies, then the scenes are gratuitous, but appropriate given the type of movie it is.
If it's a more serious movie, then it depends on how the scene is shot and presented. It could be gratuitous just to generate word-of-mouth that so-so has a sex scene or it could be artful and needed to advance the story line.

If you like Jane March, "The Lover" is much, much better. Trust me.

Frighteningly bad actress, but one of the more stunning women ever seen on screen.

I would say the same about Joan Severance.

Just remembered, one of my favorite five minutes ever in a movie -- "About Last Night" with Demi Moore and Rob Lowe, the part that included them running out to the fridge for a late-night snack. Not just hot, it had feeling, too.

Anne Hathaway in "Havoc" is pretty damn hot.
