No blue-on-blue for Boise State

Boise State had to agree not to wear all-blue uniforms on its all-blue home turf in order to join the MWC. Opposing coaches say it made game film almost useless; Boise State, of course, says that's not true.

So what's the difference if, say, Marshall were to go with monochromatic green uniforms for home games?

Marshall hasn't been relevant in years, it wouldn't matter.

No argument there, KY. But let's face it ... is this how the Mountain West wants to treat a school it covets based on rampant recent success? Not terribly smart, IMO ...

I can see the conference's argument, but Boise has worn all-blue uniforms for several years now. Is it really that much of a disadvantage to the opposing teams?

No, that's not overstating it at all.

I really wouldn't mind the NCAA stepping in and establishing uniform standards all around - perhaps no more than three different uniform combinations can be used in a season.
I don't know if the Boise uniforms make a difference, but the orange stripes on the back, the grey numbers etc. make me think it might be tougher for refs to pick things up.

The NCAA does have a rule that prohibits anything on a uniform that looks like a football. Hell, they can wrap a rewrite of the rules and say it's a safety thing, so if a player is injured play can be stopped.

The Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins wear white at home, so these yahoos with the blue field can wear white as well.

They want to be taken seriously around the nation? Try removing the P.T. Barnum turf.
