I'm far, far outside of good hot dog territory, but the "Chicago dog" at Sonic --- with a poppy seed bun, hot peppers and pickles --- is pretty damn good.

 

In this great metro area, I've looked far and wide for a good authentic Chicago dog. Sonic's comes the closest. They even use celery salt...

 

PK just opened on Hollywood Blvd.; can't wait to get there and have my first one in years.

But when I do, I'll certainly have a tinge of guilt for cheating on the best 'dog in California, Skooby's:
