If thread is extraneous, please advise.

This Carson Palmer thing is getting messy. Break up or don't, but stop talking about it.

John was wrong to even appear on Tony's show under those conditions. I know they go back a long way, but it was a foolish thing to do. You can't give that kind of crap the credibility you possess, and John of course, possesses one hell of a lot more of it than me, to name a random example.

I'm wondering what it would take to get Palmer. I don't think he's great, but I think three of the NFC West teams could definitely upgrade with him. Do you think he could be had for a second-rounder?

This should help, but probably won't:

The mediator has a history of supporting unions so you know the greedy fuck owners will never agree with anything he suggests.

The Sanders move had to be made. He's just too injury-prone.

If San Francisco is going to stick with a WCO, Kolb already has experience running it. He also wants out, is younger, healthier and would be cheaper to come by. Palmer is in the top 20 for career passer rating (86.9), and has only played for two winning teams -- and it's hard to say he's in the upper crust of the league now.

He isn't and hasn't been for a while. Palmer was right up there with the best quarterbacks in the NFL four or five years ago, but then the injuries piled up and he has never gotten back close to his old level.

He has excellent numbers. Better than a lot of QBs that are and have been propped up.

At least one team in the NFC South could use Carson Palmer, too. But it won't be a second-rounder - that got dealt last year.

Assuming there is still a Franchise tag in the next CBA, the Steelers make it official that Lamarr Woodley would get it for 2011.
