Going to Lambeau - any tips?

I'm making my first trip to Lambeau for the Week 2 Bills-Packers game. (Going as a fan, not a reporter.) There's a ton of stuff to read about the experience, but I thought I'd also ask you guys if you have any recommendations. Thank you very much!

 

(I'll happily accept accommodation recommendations in addition to experience recommendations - I have to stay over for a night.)

 

You better book your hotel now if you already haven't. Plus many places in the immediate vincinty require a two-night stay minimum.

Do you plan on tailgating or just going to the bars beforehand? There are bars on the east and west side of the stadium, although most are on the east side. Stadium View and The Bar are two of the better ones, and they have outside areas as well so they are larger.

Since it's your first time, take time to just walk around all sides of the stadium and in the parking lot. So much of college football-esqe atmosphere to enjoy, obviously with tailgating galore.

If you're going to be up there the day before, take time to visit the Packers Hall of Fame, the Atrium and a Stadium tour.

Not knowing what's available or sold out for hotels, Radisson by the airport is attached to the casino and usually attracts a good gameday crowd ... usually where CBS puts their talent. And there are several along Oneida Street just a few miles away from the stadium. There also is a Hilton Garden Inn on Lombardi that's an easy walk to the bars/stadium.

Packer Hall of Fame is worth going a day early - also stadium tour.

Hilton Garden Inn is great location but would be shocked if you can get in there at this point.

Hey Gutter - does Brett Favre still have a steak house behind the Hilton.

 

Yep, but it's been rebranded as a Waffle House and the street name has been changed from Brett Favre Pass to Brett Favre Interception.

 

It's always been a dream of mine to stand on the Packers sideline and yell, "What the hell's going on out here" a la Lombardi in the NFL Films clip.

Many stadiums shut off beer sales after three quarters. At Lambeau, this is the start of happy hour.

 

I'm a Bears fan, but Lambeau is a great experience. The Packers Hall of Fame is cool to visit and they have the three SB trophies on display.
Forget the bars, try to hit up some of the local tailgating they have there. The fans, for the most part, are really friendly and they'll accept your goofy Bills jersey because its an AFC team. The renovated Lambeau Field is beautiful. They have a nice atrium and a the restaurant they have in there is very good. Can't remember the name though.
The rest of Green Bay? Completely lame.

 

Restaurant is "Curley's" Coolest thing in HOF is the life size set up of the Starr QB sneak against Dallas. You can stand over center and look over the Defense from Starr perspective. With Pugh in A Gap you can clearly see that Kramer block was not that difficult.

 

A lot of people hit the bars on College Avenue in nearby Appleton the night before games. Many visiting NFL teams stay down there too. I saw Lamar Smith out drinking the night before a game once.

Bubbs/Gutter: Is that gaggle of hotels really walking distance? I had planned on just going to Milwaukee Saturday-Tuesday AM (brewers Monday PM), but this thread has me thinking I should do GB Saturday-Monday, then head to Milwaukee (already have Pfister reservations).

Also, I got tickets/pre-game tailgate through Packers tours; you guys ever done that? Figured it was a decent deal for out-of-towners who know no one.
