Any idea what's going on with all the "turnover"? They constantly firing, people constantly quitting or something else?

They had a great guy in there, but he had to quit because of family problems at home. From what I hear, the decision was disappointing from both sides.

Ok, that might have been two years ago. And I know they had to stop the job search because of the economic downturn but this latest opening, one would think, should've been filled by now. It keeps popping up and the World is a much better outfit than that.

No, this happened within the past 2-3 months.

    I'll adress all of these.

-- The May 2008 opening came because someone on our desk decided to leave the newspaper business.

-- The April 2009 opening was because one of our desk folk was promoted to Assistant Scene Editor here at the World and is doing a great job over there.

-- The August 2009 opening we unfortunately had to fire one of our staff, which led to us hiring Ernie Webb III, an amazing hire who unfortunately had to leave the paper for family reasons, leading to the current opening.

-- The April 29 listing was because Ernie had to leave us. That posting and and this one are the same job; we haven't made a hire but wanted to get it back out there.

I'd like to add that we probably should've listed this as a copy editor/designer job. We'd love to find someone who could do both, but the job will probably be tailored to be more editing or more design depending on who we hire. If anyone has any questions, let me know.

Thanks for straightening it out. Good luck in the search.
