A 31-point home loss to anyone is not a loss we should see coming for a team you believe should be ranked 13th. When highly-ranked teams lose big, they fall big, even if it's at the No. 1 team. The Oklahoma win is good, but not as good as we thought it'd be. Most of their other wins are fine, though only beating sorry-ass New Mexico by 5 would not reflect well on a BCS conference team in the top 15.

I don't see these guys as top 15. Maybe a win over Utah at the end would convince me, but not based on the resume put forth.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, the poll will be running late this week -- like early evening.

Those who are friends of Ms. Slappy on Facebook are encouraged to chide her for forgetting to bring her cell phone at work today.

Any inference between the two events and their relation to each other are yours not mine publicly, anyway

I'm confused. You mention Cincy's only victory over a ranked team as coming against South Florida, then have Pitt not playing a ranked team yet. Was South Florida not ranked when it lost to Pitt?

Thought it was going to be a nuking of the poll, what a relief that it's just running late.

I thought they were ranked at the time, too. I don't think they dropped completely out until after the loss to Rutgers.

Interesting note about the top 10 in our poll:

LSU struggled to beat a lower-division WAC team at home, and moved up from No. 10 to No. 9.

Ohio State beat the team it was tied with for the Big 10 lead to claim a Rose Bowl berth, and the Buckeyes fall from No. 9 to No. 10.
