Darren Rovell says it'll debut at No. 8 on NYT list.

Looks like it's No. 9, if this is the official list.

You know, if I could actually ever write that novel I've been working on and it 'tanked' by debuting at No. 9 on the NYT chart.. well, that wouldn't suck.

Strange - In the "hard copy" version that is in paper. ARod is nowhere to be found on the non fiction best seller list.

  5. Because I forgot Boom's birthday this year.

The date of the link says "05/24" even though the list on the link says "Published: May 15." What gives? Is the online list a week ahead of the list that appears in the paper?

It is. The Times releases its list on Wednesday afternoon, 10 days prior to the print version.

The Observer follows up on the book and the backlash:

Can we get an updated ranking on the NY Times, Amazon and Casey Kasem charts, please?

As far as the book itself, it's nothing special at all. Basically all you ever wanted to know about Alex Rodriguez. I almost felt dirty reading it because it's a little too close to the vest.

I'm not sure what compelled Roberts to write the book. Seems like a giant waste of time.

According to Bookscan, which tracks around 75% of book sales, the book has sold around 16,000 copies, most of those in the first week.

Regardless of whether you love/hate the book or A-Rod or the author, this is not good news for the already weak sports book department:
