Yep. The only way he could have offended me more is if he said "faggot spics."

The Organization of Chinese-Americans has released multiple statements condemning the picture. George Wu, deputy director of the group, said, "it is unfortunate that this type of imagery would rear its head during something that is supposed to be a time of world unity." Response in Beijing has been muted so far.

The picture is stupid, offensive and in poor taste...

But why do these types of organizations feel the need to make a statement (or multiple statements) every time some idiot or group of idiots displays their ignorance?

Why dignify it with a comment?

As someone of Chinese descent, its no doubt culturally insensitive and potentially racist. But most importantly it just shows how ignorant the Spaniards are and you can only hope that the world feels the same way.

Here's hoping 1.3 Billion people decide to do something other than just turn the other cheek. Maybe 2000 drummers outside their dorm?

As with politics in the U.S., especially in the last few years, if you don't outwardly denounce actions like this, you get painted as tacitly supporting them.

Think about how many times politicians from all sides have been pressed to denounce someone else's comments this year.

Evidently you missed Joe's point as well.

You're off to a great start, newbie. Fetch me a beer.

Wow. Very uncomfortable to still see the word "spics" in a title thread. Can we do something about that?

Anyone hear about the other politically incorrect statement of the games so far? The Australian Olympic president, when asked about how well England was doing in swimming, commented that it was unusual, given the country's "lack of swimming pools and soap."

    Now that was funny.
