Gary Coleman signs a one-day contract with a team from the summer collegiate Northwoods League so he can get an at-bat on the team's "80s Night" promotion.

Unfortunately, he doesn't see a pitch because the bats doctored and he gets thrown out of the game.

Cosmo Kramer would have brushed him back off the plate.

A complete set-up and sham, but hilarious nevertheless.

I like how the guy in red points Coleman the way to the plate and shows him how to swing.

They should have called Coleman back and had Emmanuel Lewis pinch-hit for him.

Hey, he owns the inside part of the plate.

I'm glad the summer collegiate wood-bat league I covered for three years wouldn't have allowed a stunt to go this far. Sure, they ran promotions. But draw the line, eh?

Say what you will Sam, but the Northwoods is one of the most competitive summer leagues around and Madison draws about 6K per game, which is just absurd by summer-league standards.

I know the Northwoods League is good, Q Man. One of the coaches for the team I covered was from the Northwoods League, and he showed a lot of promise in the role. Good guy, to boot.

But still, the stunt was silly. To be fair, there may be other teams in the league that would never consider a stunt like this.
