If this is the one located in Alabama, it is Montevallo with two L's. That might be why the website isn't showing up.

That's a cut and paste so I don't know - but maybe that's why they need help!

    Yes, it's two Ls.
    I promise.

It's Division II athletics, brand new athletic facilities, a public university with a liberal-arts focus, incredibly nice people all the way to the president's office. No football, but this school makes it work. Charming campus. Quaint town (about 20 minutes from Hoover) and small-school atmosphere with some big-school professors, especially in the theatre, english and education departments.

UM is moving from the football-oriented Gulf South to the non-football Peach Belt.

Many of the new opponents will be from the Eastern time zone which MIGHT help the SID get more space in the Birmingham News just because the road games will be completed an hour sooner than those on central time. The News doesn't cover UM much but does get regular coverage from the local weekly (or bi-weekly), the Shelby County Reporter.
The basketball coach is a nice guy and he's been to the national tournament four of the past five years but needs to learn how to return phone calls. Same with the new AD. The women's basketball coach is a former Alabama player and a burst of fresh energy who will turn things around quickly and be a lot of fun to work with.
For the most part the athletic department knows its role within the university community and isn't Jock Central.
This should be a good job for a young SID with a lot of enthusiasm and a willingness to work with people and establish relationships. The last guy was a good numbers/stats guy who is now working with game management and facilities but did not excel in the media relations end of the job.

A little research goes a long way.
He's staying in the athletic department, working with game management and facilities.
