Dan actually got the job over the second place applicant, whose e-mail address was djmixer62@hotmail.com or some such.

Visited Roswell and eastern New Mexico on spring break in my junior year of college (waaaayyy back in 1997). Thought it was funny that the first thing I saw driving up 285 was a billboard for a crematorium. Now I realize that was just a bustling industry.

Roswell sucked ass on my trip. The zoo was cool, the town was terrible. Budgeted three days to stay, and ended up driving up to Fort Sumner on one of them. Lots of cool little vacation spots in that area though (Carlsbad Caverns, Fort Sumner, White Sands).

Fort Sumner a vacation spot?????????? Uhhh, where did you stay? And why did you stay there?

The town is a blip on the map, made famous only by the fact that one of the most overrated figures in American History -- Billy the Kid -- is buried there. They have the annual Billy the Kid Days there, complete with tombstone races, which sums up the only reason to visit the place.

I used to drive through there on my way back from Albuquerque to Clovis when I was serving time there. There's no "there" there.
