Would Eagleton's electro-shock treatments really be such a big deal nowadays?

And are you saying Ferraro was alleged to have played for the road team?

    (a) Disagree. The heat would have been exponentially worse.

    (b) Not at all . . . hubby's shady, shady, SHADY business dealings . . .

  3. Running a mob warehouse? Shady?
    Boy, you're picky.

And it's tough to be picky these days . . . "these days" now stretching back into the 50's.

    (a) With the 24-hour news cycle, maybe Eagleton does get beat up quite a bit, but another story would come and take that off the front pages, methinks. It wouldn't be the ticket-killer that it was back then. (The story probably also would get out long before it got to the VP-vetting stage.)

    (b) Sorry I didn't get the correct implication there. I was too busy playing in the sandbox to care in '84.

  6. Playing in the sandbox? Is that a metaphor for something?

Speaking of pedophiles, one who just got busted (a former TV reporter) listed an interesting reference on his resume - Charlie Crist.

This definitely doesn't help the Crist for VP idea.

    Not . . . good . . . at . . . all . . .

  10. Much as I hate to admit it, Straight Talkin' John's got to have the Huck on the short list now.

He's probably not going to win anyway, so I'm not sure to what extent it matters, but that would be a terrible idea, and I think he's smart enough to realize that.

OK. What does McCain need in a running mate?
