Clemson getting votes (here and the major polls) is another example of how sucktastic this season has been.

Terry Don needs to put Tommy Boy out of his misery.

Is this week a first? Did everyone get their poll in without having to have slappy ask for it?

Haven't seen any posts from slappy saying who needs to send it in.

I think maybe he's just not up yet. I just sent mine in, and yes, I voted for UCLA. It was either them or Eastern Michigan :D

Clemson? Or Rutgers? Jeez, stack the box and that team's done. Hence, the 5-2 record.

    Pacific-10 standings

    Arizona State (7) 4-0 7-0
    UCLA 4-0 5-2
    Oregon (5) 3-1 6-1
    USC (9) 3-1 6-1
    California (18) 2-2 5-2
    Oregon State 2-2 4-3
    Stanford 2-3 3-4
    Arizona 1-4 2-6
    Washington 0-4 2-5
    Washington State 0-4 2-5

Will UCLA remain tied for first for much longer? Probably not. But if a team is tied for first and undefeated in conference after four or five weeks of play in a BCS conference and is coming off a win against a team in the top 20, that merits a place in the top 25 for me. Maybe at No. 24 or 25, based on its out of conference losses . . . . . but yeah, the Bruins squeaked into my top 25.

I still can't vote for UCLA, simply because that Utah game was so lopsided.

It's time for another installment of "Ask Mr. Football"

Dude: Mark Mangino is the biggest slob in college football. Have you seen those fried-egg man boobs? He should challenge Ralph Friedgen to a sumo wrestling contest! That would be a blast! LOL. Keepin it real! Back to work in the real armed forces!
    J.V.
    APO San Francisco

Dear JV: Is there a question?
    ---
Mr. Football: How can LSU be ranked ahead of Boston College when LSU has one loss and Boston College has none?
    A. Wicked
    Pissah, Mass.

Dear A: It's a confidence thing really. The SEC has none and has to trumpet it's own horn in a vain attempt at self-respect. It has nothing to do with a team having no losses deserving to be ranked ahead of a team that lost on the road.
    ---
Dear sports hero: I made a fool of myself this week. I picked our local Division 1 school to beat a Division 1AA team by 21 points. The 1AA team came out and ran the football against the local 11 like it was a Three Stooges short. Tell me, how can I get my respect back.
    S.H.
    Minneapolis

Dear S.: Sorry, I stopped paying attention after the word fool.

    ---
Dear Slapster: I'm just not seeing it. What kind of dummies put Florida and South Florida in the top 10?
    T.P.
    Petty, USA.

Dear Tom: This is a first, asking a question before the poll comes out. But your answer is, the same dummies who ranked Auburn with three losses.
    ---
Hey Goober: UCLA got 21 points! Why isn't Appalachian State ranked too?
    C.W.
    South Bend, Ind.

Dear CW: I have no idea why people voted for UCLA. I know they beat Cal, but people who follow college football know better than to vote for a team that gave Notre Dame its only win.
    ---
Dear Mr. Slappy, When will Hawaii's football team get respect?
    J.J.
    Honolulu

Dear JJ: When it stops accepting bids to a post-season game in its own state.

    ---
Dear Mr. Slappy, Which team is the next undefeated team to lose?
    Stan Solo
    Comfort Zone, USA.

Dear Stan: Glad you asked. And Hokie Smokes, it could be Boston College by virtue of playing Thursday night at Virginia Tech. Or it could be Ohio State, who plays Penn State on the road. But my money is on Arizona State, which plays Cal at home.
    ---
Dear Slappy: Did you really put Alabama in your top 25? Do you have a concussion?
    Ms. Slappy

Hey. I can do it. I'm a man. I'm 40 (or more). And I haven't had a concussion since last week. But at least I didn't vote for Tennessee or UCLA. My head might have hurt, but I'm not a dummy.
