I guess the Rangers are just what the Thrash needed: already leading 2-0.

Not only do the Thrash win, but they were back to their old feisty selves.

And what about the play of Marty Biron? Back-to-back shutouts for the Flyers.

Ones in the Edmonton-Phoenix game. Gad, those Coyotes unis are dreadful. Looks like a college football team.

Was just checking San Jose's schedule in November to possibly take in a game there and I noticed something kind of weird.

Phoenix will play San Jose three consecutive games (Nov. 10 AND 12 at San Jose and then Nov. 15 at Phoenix). Is that just a quirky thing or not? I've rarely if ever seen one team play another three consecutive times.

I think the scheduling monkey has been eating some bad bananas. That's just stupid.

The Coyotes follow it up with a home-and-home with the Kings, four days apart.

Flames squeak it out ... was off playing my own game of hockey, though, so have no idea what happened.

Ryan Hollweg is getting close to Jesse Boulerice territory.

Nice kudos for the TSN hockey panel from Chris Zelkovich, sports media columnist for the Star. Mike Milbury's the new addition to the panel--he's flat out great.

Newcomer Mike Milbury has been hitting similar high notes all season.

On Montreal's Alexei Kovalev: "Fifteen years in the league, so much talent, so much ability, and so little going on between the ears."

On the feud between Kevin Lowe and Brian Burke: "I just love it that Brian Burke is apoplectic out there in Anaheim and has a Kevin Lowe voodoo doll in his office and a lifetime supply of pins."

I'm also a big Glen Healy fan. Now if they could just get rid of McGuire.

What is this team before my eyes? The Flyers are playing well?

Thrashers have placed Lehtonen on IR ... it's a groin thing.
