Information: Looking for a challenge? Great, because the St. Petersburg Times is seeking a sports copy editor, focusing primarily on our high school coverage, who can meet the challenges we'll throw your way.

Naturally, we want someone who has demonstrated the ability to make copy sing, write sharp headlines, juggle many tasks and tighten up a story on deadline. But as Florida's largest newspaper, we want much more. Interest and experience working on the Web will be a big plus, as we continue to integrate those skills into our newsroom.

We want someone who will bring ideas to the table and help shape our coverage, in print and electronically. Most of all, because there are challenges ahead that we haven't even thought of, we want someone who works hard and can think at a high level.

If that sounds like you, please send materials to:

    Roy LeBlanc

    Assistant Sports Editor

Florida's largest newspaper? I did not know that.

I think the Miami Herald inched ahead on Sunday circ. this past year, but the Times still is the largest Mon-Sat.

And this is a good job, btw. PM me if you have questions.

What kind of materials would they be looking for here besides resume and cover letter? Headlines? Edited story examples? Seems like there could be quite a few things that might work.

In limited dealings, Roy LeBlanc was top-notch.

Good group, good balance sheet (Poynter), good middle management and good weather many months of the year. No design in the gig, either.
