That's freaking hysterical, and I agree with Hawkins 100 percent. If you want your kid to have more than a couple weeks off, then let him transfer to a D II school, or have him play intramural flag football.

No, that was Coach Orgeron from Ole Miss

"Yo, yo, yo, yo, yooooo, yo, yoooo, yo, Football!"

Too bad that attitude won't work on high school parents...

He was spot-on in his observation (though his delivery was unconventional). The letter probably came from a parent whose son was a recruit from the previous coach. Maybe attitudes like that, and not the new coach, is what led to Colorado's loss to Montana State.

The rant came in response to a beat reporter's question: Why did seven players leave the team? Pretty innocent question, needed to be asked, but apparently, it touched a nerve.

That line is from a song that makes fun of Orgeron's indecipherable speech ...

and here's an example from an ad for a local Hummer dealership in Mississippi

It was in a Colorado newspaper last Thursday. Obviously, doesn't have the same effect as what's on tape.

After his news conference, Hawkins became highly animated when asked about recent roster attrition. He said he received an anonymous letter from a player's parents who were "bummed out the boys" would get only two weeks off between the end of the spring semester and the beginning of summer conditioning. Building to crescendo that had him pound a table and leave his seat, Hawkins said if parents sought more vacation time for their sons, they might be at the wrong school. "This is Big 12, Division I football . . . it ain't intramurals," Hawkins said.

Seriously, I think the parents have a good point. Why shouldn't they get to see their kids a little more.

Hell the damn NFL players can take a few months off, but college kids can't get three weeks in the summer?
