Wow, I had never seen the video for "The Bitterest Pill". That's one of the brilliant late-era Jam songs, right up there with "Absolute Beginners".

Good to see a shout out for Split Enz (saw them open for Tom Petty once, interesting double bill). "I Got You" is one of the perfect pop songs of the 80s. Some other great ones: "Message To My Girl" (gorgeous song), "Hard Act To Follow", "I See Red" (with one of the great cheesy organ solos ever), "Shark Attack" and "What's The Matter With You?".

Playing off some previous mentions in the thread:

"Slut", Todd Rundgren. With the immortal (immoral?) line: S L U T, she might be a slut, but she looks good to me.
    "Low Budget", Kinks
"Detox Mansion", Zevon. Ought to be a board fave with the lyric: I've been rakin' leaves with Liza, Me and Liz clean up the yard
    "Deliver Me", Tom Petty
"Hammer to Fall", Queen. The twin brother to Huggy's "Put Out the Fire"
    "Sip the Wine", Rick Danko
"The Wait", the Pretenders. My vote for the most underrated, underplayed rock classic of all time.

Bad Company does have a lot of solid stuff. I agree with you on 10 from 6. Leaves out a lot of great stuff. One song that is on the 10 from 6 but just has the killer bass is "Live for the Music." Love it.

If we're talking Bad Company, you gotta throw in "Silver, Blue and Gold".
